On Saturday, April 13th, the Chapin Sisters, known for their “enchanting harmonies and lyrics that are infused with as much hope as they are longing,” according to amazon.com, will be playing at the Otto Specht School Farm Faire! Last year, the siblings, who carry on a musical family lineage that includes their grammy award-winning father, Tom Chapin, and legendary late uncle, Harry Chapin, released their most recent EP, Ferry Boat.
Playing for the Farm Faire is a bit of a homecoming for the sisters, who graduated from the Green Meadow Waldorf School, Otto Specht's sister school. In between larger tours, both national and international, the sisters, Abigail and Lily are always happy to come back home to provide a great show for a good cause. The Farm Faire will include a full day of family fun in addition to the great musical lineup. There will be nature- and farm-themed activities and games, a petting zoo, a photo booth, a puppet show, fantastic food, many vendors, and a silent auction featuring everything from student creations to vacation packages. The Faire will support vocational programs at the Otto Specht School, which provides a Waldorf curriculum and hands-on learning for students with learning challenges and developmental delays.
