Festive Low-Fat Dessert

No holiday dinner would be complete without a yummy dessert to end the meal.  For a sweet treat that will please your taste buds—but won't derail your diet— the whole wheat bread in this old-fashioned bread pudding provides fiber, while the skim milk is a healthy low-fat alternative to heavy cream.  And the apple-raisin mixed berry sauce is easy to make and adds festive flair to this traditional dish.

1 cup of fresh berries, such as raspberries or blueberries      ½ cup raisins

4.  Serve warm or at room temperature with the apple-raisin mixed berry sauce.

5.  To make the sauce, stir all of the ingredients together in a medium-sized saucepan. Bring to a low heat and simmer for five minutes. Serve warm.
