The Top 9 Places Go Peach Picking Near Rockland County

These farms and orchards offer peach picking in NJ and NY, perfect for a day trip to go peach picking near Rockland County.


In addition to berry picking, summer brings peach picking season! Picking peaches is the ideal opportunity for a summer day trip. Pick the juiciest peaches you can find right off the tree. Then use them to make some cobbler, pie or whatever other peach creations you can fathom. You’re sure to create some Instagrammable moments and memories during your family adventure.

When are peaches in season for picking in the New York metro area? Peaches are typically ready to pick mid-July through mid-September. Though, it depends on the farm and the weather we’ve had. As with any fruit-picking outing, be sure to call before leaving to ensure the farm is open and has produce available to pick.

Peach Picking in NY

Ochs Orchard

Hours: Call or check Facebook for daily updates. Days and hours change based on pick-your-own availability.
Admission: $5 per person ages 4 and older. $3 per admission is credited back to your purchase. Peaches are sold by the pound.

This four-generation, 100-acre family farm offers spectacular views overlooking the Warwick Valley. This farm has a large diversity of fruits and vegetables you can pick. Summer brings peaches as well as blueberries, raspberries, plums, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, nectarines, apricots, and raspberries. Check out the Farm Market with goods made from the farm’s produce and vegetables like jams and jellies, pure maple syrup, butters, apple cider and honey.

Why we love it: Visit their farm animal friends at no charge.

Fishkill Farms

Approximate drive from Nanuet: 1 hour
Hours: Tuesday-Sunday, 9am-5pm. Reservations are required, but aren’t released far in advance because the number of reservations available is determined by the amount of fruit in the fields and the weather forecast.
Admission: $42 for two half-peck bags (about 10 pounds). Package includes entry for up to 5 people.

This 270-acre apple orchard and vegetable farm has been a family farm for more than 100 years. All vegetables, berries, and farm fresh eggs here are certified organic, as well as one-third of the orchard. The rest of the apples, stone fruit, and pears are grown with an ecological approach that’s close to organic.

Lawrence Farm Orchards

Hours: daily, 9am-4pm
Admission: $5 per person and then pay for everything you pick. You must put peaches into an approved container. Zero sampling policy.

This family-owned and -operated pick-your-own fruit and vegetable farm has been doing pick-your-own for more than 30 years on its 150-acre farm. The family has been involved in farming since their great-grandfather came to the area from England in 1892. Try to arrive at the farm by 3pm so you can enjoy all it has to offer.

Why we love it: Kids will love playing in the little village of play houses and visiting and feeding the animals.

Peach Picking in NJ

Demarest Farms

Hours: Saturday-Sunday, 9am-3pm; schedule your trip using its online reservation system. 
Admission: $5 per person ages 2 and older. Includes free parking and entrance to the peach orchard, plus $12 for a bag (holds about 10-12 pounds). 

Open since 1886, this farm is a staple in Bergen County. Hayrides still aren’t being given right now, so wear shoes for walking on uneven surfaces. No outside items allowed including strollers, backpacks, and purses.

Alstede Farms

Admission: Each person must have a pick-your-own entry ticket. A 5-pound peach box is $19.99 or a 10-pound box is $31.99.

Make a day out of your visit. Every entry ticket includes access to the pick-your-own peach area, a container, the cost of the fruit, scenic hay wagon rides around the farm, and access to its hay pyramid, evergreen maze, and Blooming Giants Sunflower Trail.

Eastmont Orchards

Formerly known as Delicious Orchards, the first apple trees on this farm were planted in 1911. Since 1923, Eastmont Orchards has been a part of the community, providing a fun, family-friendly place for people to visit and gather fresh fruit.

Why we love it: It sells local honey and jams at its stand.

Battleview Orchards

Admission: Pay by pound for all the fruit you pick. Orchard is cash only and reservations aren’t required.

This fourth-generation family-run farm has been owned and operated by the Applegate family since 1908. Check out the website for mouthwatering peach recipes like peach crisp, shortcake, and shake. Save room for the farm’s apple cider doughnuts which are sold at the country market.

Why we love it: The farm also has pick-your-own apples, strawberries, sour cherries, nectarines, and pumpkins at various times throughout the year.

Von Thun Farms

Admission: Everyone older than 2 needs to purchase admission to the field, which is $3 per person, as well as a picking container (small or 3 pounds is $10; bucket or 7 pounds is $20 or $28). No reservations are needed.

Nestled in scenic Warren County, the farm is open spring, summer, and fall with activities for the whole family. Besides peach picking, it also has strawberry, blackberry, raspberry, apple, and pumpkin picking. Plus, it offers horseback riding and has a barnyard buddies kids’ program for young outdoorsy kids interested in farm life.

Silverman’s Farm has been a family owned and operated business since the early 1920s. Their country market boasts fruits, veggies, dairy products, jams, jellies and sweet treats. Besides peaches, they have pick-your-own apples, raspberries and blueberries. Since something is always happening here, check the schedule of events to see what’s going on.

Why we love it: Visit the animal farm to feed and pet buffalo, llamas, alpacas, deer and more. The farm also hosts story and craft times.
