FAO Schwarz Reopens as a Pop-Up This Holiday Season

The iconic toy brand FAO Schwarz is launching a collection exclusive to department stores across the country this holiday season, according to a press release.

The FAO Schwarz flagship store on Fifth Avenue closed in July 2015 and left holes in our hearts (along with the giant Toys “R” Us store in Times Square), so news that an exclusive collection can fill the void—especially during the magical holiday season—brings us joy.

The collection is called Return to Wonder and will include one-of-a-kind toys, specialty items, holiday décor, and more, such as a live video streaming Coventry Aviation drones, Bluetooth microphone, rollercoaster set, a fashion designer activity set, a 12-inch anniversary bear plush, and the piano dance mat made famous by Tom Hanks in Big.

On Tuesday, Oct. 24, actress Katie Holmes joined FAO Schwarz and KaBOOM!—a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing active play to underserved communities—to unveil the collection at Bergdorf Goodman on Fifth Avenue.
