Muppet Babies is Getting a Reboot Thanks to Disney Junior

Muppet Babies are back thanks to Disney Junior. The beloved show, which ran from 1984-1991 is getting a reboot and will feature all the characters you know and love, with one new voice added to the mix.

Jenny Slate will voice Miss Nanny, previously voiced by Barbara Billingsley.

“I was so excited when they asked me to be Miss Nanny,” Slate said, in the preview clip. “I think that Miss Nanny really pays attention to each of the Muppets, and she sort of accepts their nature. She's not trying to get Animal to be straight-laced and not be Animal. She's a good nanny and a caretaker for them because she nurtures what they have inside of themselves, which is really, really sweet.”

Other characters' wil be voiced as follows: Kermit the Frog by Matt Danner, Piggy by Melanie Harrison, Fozzie Bear by Eric Bauza, Gonzo by Ben Diskin, Animal by Bradley Baker, and Summer Penguin by Jessica DiCicco.

As in the original, Miss Nanny will only be seen from the waist down. Except in this version her tights will change from episode to episode to reflect the show's theme.

“She just really has that quirky voice, which has this little twist of fun to it and this little squeak . . . that you couldn't put on; it has to be natural,” said Tom Warburton, executive producer of the show.

We agree that Slate is the perfect person to voice this role and can't wait to see the reboot, which is scheduled to air in March of this year. Check out the clip below for a sneak peek!
