Tumble-Bee Gymnastics in Nanuet Makes Open Gym Times Available to the Public

Beginning this year, Tumble-Bee Gymnastics, a noncompetitive gymnastics facility that serves children ages 10 months to 12 years, has begun allowing families who are not members to drop into open gym times. The open gyms are playtimes for children ages four and younger with a parent or guardian. There are four open gyms offered each week including Tuesday from 10:30-11:30am, Wednesday from 2-3pm and 6:45-7:45pm, and Thursday from 1-2pm. Summer hours, which begin on June 27 are Wednesday from 2-3pm, Thursday from 6:15-7:15pm, and Saturday from 11:30am-12:30pm.

“The gym is set up developmentally and age-appropriately for our classes for preschoolers. They go in the gym and they can play in the gym with their parents and go on the bars, the beam, the trampoline, the floor obstacles, and the ball pit,” says Cheryl Holm, owner of Tumble-Bee Gymnastics. “We do have a manager, and we all float through to see if anyone needs any help, but it’s not a structured class with a teacher.”

Tumble-Bee members can attend one free open gym class a week, with additional open gym times at a rate of $5. The general public is welcome to drop in for $10 a session. For safety purposes, parents must watch their children and come into the gym with them during open gym. Parents must also sign a waiver ensuring that they are familiar with safety rules regarding different gymnastics apparatuses.

Additionally, space is limited to 24 children per session with spots given on a first-come-first-served basis.
