LuHi Summer Programs is pleased to announce that former Assistant Director Ed Parry has taken over the reigns as Director. Ed has been an integral part of LuHi for over twenty years. He is a teacher in the Huntington School District and a former Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at Huntington High School. Ed is also the Director of Basketball at St. Raymonds CYO in East Rockaway.

Ed is eager to continue the LuHi tradition as we enter our 49th season. We continue to be your headquarters for arts, sports and recreation. LuHi is one of the premier affordable summer programs on Long Island. Offering over 30 exciting and diverse programs in four two-week sessions LuHi has proudly served three generations of Long Island families and remains one of the best summer values on the island. All programs include free door to door transportation. Programs are directed by caring experienced professionals with outstanding credentials in their fields. They provide a time for fun and learning in a nurturing environment.

    Kumon Math and Reading Center of Kew Gardens, an academic enrichment center, recently opened in Forest Hills. The center offers help for students who are struggling in school or for students who want to get ahead in school.

    Bilingual Preschool Opens Second Flushing Location
    Ivy Day School, a preschool in Queens, recently opened a second Flushing location. Along with the core subjects, preschoolers benefit from an English-Mandarin bilingual program, as well as creative arts and cooking classes. The school also has art and computer rooms, an indoor playroom, and a garage for easy pick up and drop off.

    Sesame Street Fans Meet at Beaches Ocho Rios in Jamaica
    Planning a family trip to Jamaica? The Beaches Ocho Rios Resort & Golf Club is an all-inclusive vacation spot that features Sesame Street characters and other fun programs for kids as well as scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, and more for the whole family.

    House of Sports and FC Westchester Partner to Offer Soccer Camp
    House of Sports, which partnered with FC Westchester last spring to offer a soccer program, now offers a soccer summer day camp. The camp, for children of all ages and skill levels, helps campers improve their soccer skills through drills, games, and tournaments.

    Scarsdale Candy Store Gives Back, Now Offers ChariTotes
    Imagine Candy, a candy store in Scarsdale that is involved in charitable efforts, now offers ChariTotes for customers to purchase. ChariTotes are craft kits for children, and 10 percent of the profits are donated to the Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
