BACK TO SCHOOL
I have taught music for over 40 years— mostly piano and guitar—starting in the 4th grade, then with the Tuba in elementary band, and beyond in Brooklyn College (BA Music). Many excellent teachers and conductors have influenced my teaching and performance. I stress good technique and the basics, while encouraging students to practice regularly and efficiently, demonstrating a technique I call "micropractice." The most important thing is the ability of my students to entertain. I’ll prepare students for tests, but only as a measure of their progress.
