Meet the Manhattan Mom Behind Stroller in the City

Meet Brianne Manz, the Manhattan mom behind Stroller in the City, a parenting blog site all about raising kids in Manhattan. She is one of the parenting influencers we love in the New York metro area!

Brianne Manz started her blog, Stroller in the City, almost 11 years ago, shortly after her son Ryder was born. “My priorities completely changed,” she says. “I sold my fashion business to be a SAHM and started the blog for friends and family.” She attributes the organic growth of the blog (as well her Facebook and Instagram—which now has 171,000 followers) to “the grace of this amazing city and all the other amazing moms I share this community with.” As her enthusiastic and adventurous posts attest, she milks every moment of living in Manhattan with three kids and her husband. “I love raising my children in a city full of cultural backgrounds, art, events, food,” she says. “I love allowing them to always be exploring and discovering something they hadn’t known the day before.” If she had to choose her favorite place to bring the kids, Central Park would top the list.

Why follow Stroller in the City? Manz brings a keen eye and sense of fashion to every endeavor—from traveling with her kids to designing a bedroom.

What is a typical day for you?

I wake up before my kids to try to get ahead of the workday, answering a few emails and having as much coffee as I can. As soon as my kids are up, it’s a busy shuffle between all of our different schedules. No two days are alike.

What’s the best parenting advice you ever received?

Do what works for you!

Which famous parent would you like to have dinner with and why?

I know I would have a blast with Chrissy Teigen. I’d love to learn her ways around the kitchen all while sharing motherhood stories and laughs.

What do you think is a parent’s hardest job?

I think finding the balance between instilling certain values and household expectations while always supporting the individuals that they are and need to be for themselves.

Who are your favorite parents/parenting sites to follow on social media?

I love Time Out Kids and of course NYMetroParents—because it always keeps me up to date on the family-friendly events happening in the city.
