West Rock’s New Turf Ready for More Sports and Parties than Ever Before

West Rock Indoor Sports and Entertainment Complex has installed a new SpinTurf that will allow the facility to host even more sports events and parties, including lacross and football birthday parties.

West Rock BardoniaOn September 10, West Rock Indoor Sports and Entertainment Complex celebrated the installation of 26,000 feet of SpinTurf during a Welcome Back Carnival. At the event, soccer and baseball demonstrations showcased exactly what the new turf had to offer. According to owner James Miller, the new turf opens up a whole new realm of sports and party possibilities. “There is nothing else like it around here,” agrees Jen Lowenfish, West Rock’s director.

When Miller purchased the sports complex four years ago in the neighborhood where he grew up, it was essentially a four-tennis court facility. Now, West Rock boasts six tennis courts, two full-length basketball courts, two 1,000-foot party rooms, a full arcade, and much more. West Rock also sets itself apart from other entertainment facilities in the area because the complex is a permanent structure that is fully climate controlled, unlike the “bubble places” that need to be set up and taken down. “I saw there was a need in the community,” says Miller. “This place has been four years in the making.”

While West Rock has always provided a variety of sports-themed birthday party options, now kids have the option of throwing lacrosse- or football-themed birthday parties on the turf. Families can opt to celebrate a reunion with some batting practice or a bit of putting on the green. Even with all the activities available, Miller says he isn’t done expanding. “We are going to focus our energy on some major things in the works,” says Miller.

West Rock Indoor Sports and Entertainment complex is located at 21 Pralle Lane, Bardonia.
